Destiny – Activity Modifier Guide

Learn all about the various activity modifiers in the Destiny universe.

Each and every Heroic or higher activity in the Destiny universe is composed of the original story and missions with special activity modifiers tacked on the bring more challenge and variety to the game. Since the game doesn’t really give descriptions about these modifiers once you start up an activity, we decided to put together a list of all the modifiers currently in the game, that way you always know what you’re going up against. Recommended Videos
  • Airborne – Guardians deal more damage to enemies when in the air.
  • Berserk – Minions of the Darkness do not flinch, even when hit with high damage attacks.
  • Arc Burn – Arc damage from weapons with this element is greatly increased for the activity.
  • Brawler – Guardian melee damage is greatly increased during this activity.
  • Catapult – The Guardian’s grenade recharge is greatly increased throughout this activity.
  • Chaff – All of the player’s radar system is disabled.
  • Epic – Enemies that are heavily shielded will appear in much greater numbers than normal missions and strikes.
  • Nightfall – If the entire player team wipes, the squad will be returned to orbit and forced to restart the activity.
  • Small Arms – Primary weapon damage is greatly favored in this activity.
  • Solar Burn – Solar damage from weapons and abilities with this element will be greatly increased.
  • Specialist – Secondary weapon damage is greatly favored in this activity.
  • Trickle – Abilities like grenades and Supers will recharge much slower than normal.
  • Void Burn – Void Damage from weapons and abilities with this element will be greatly increased during this activity.
  • Exposure – Guardians have higher shield defense, but once depleted the shield will not recharge.
  • Fresh Troops – Some enemy spawns in this activity have been increased with addition enemy troops.
  • Grounded – Guardians will take more damage while they are in the air.
  • Heroic – Enemies are more aggressive and will appear in much greater numbers throughout the activity.
  • Juggler – No ammunition will drop for you currently equipped weapon, making it harder to refill your ammo reserves.
  • Ironclad – more of the enemies in this activity will have elemental shields.
  • Lightswitch – Minions of the darkness will have a much higher melee damage output during these activities.
  • Match Game – Enemy shields will be unable to be damaged using elemental weapons that do not match their shield type.

These are all the modifiers that make up the activity modifier list in Destiny and Destiny: The Taken King. Whether this list will receive additional modifiers with the release of Rise of Iron remains to be seen.
