Destiny – Best Ways to Farm Legendary Marks

Learn how to stock up on Legendary Marks and prepare for Rise of Iron.

Legendary Marks play almost as big a part in the Destiny universe as Strange Coins and we’re going to cover the best ways to farm them. If you want to make it anywhere in this game, and be able to purchase new Engrams, Weapons, and Armor, you’re going to have to spend some time putting in the work to get the currency you need to make those things happen. That’s where we come in. In order to help you prepare for the inevitable release of Rise of Iron, we have put together the best ways to farm Legendary Marks to make sure you’re ready to go when the new DLC hits on September 20.

Daily Heroic Story Mission

The first sure-fire way to earn yourself an easy 15 Legendary Marks is to fire up your game and head into the Daily Heroic Story Mission, which recommends a Light Level of 240. This daily mission resets each and every day, and can only be completed on one of your characters, as its rewards are tied to your account as of the release of The Taken King. It’s still a very viable way to farm Legendary Marks, however, and it can be completed quite quickly by teaming up with your friends.

Daily Crucible

The other daily mission you can complete is to hop into the Daily Crucible matchlist. This changes up every day, and will require you to simply hop in and just play the game. You aren’t required to win, or reach a certain score, or any of that kind of nonsense. This means you can grab these 15 Legendary Marks no matter how bad you are at the player versus player aspect of the game. Like the Daily Heroic Mission, the Daily Crucible can only be completed for Legendary Marks one time per day, as it is also tied to your account, and not your character.

Weekly Heroic Strike Playlist

All Destiny players are probably already familiar with the game’s Nightfall Strike, which is an extremely hard version of a random strike that resets each and every week. Much like that Nightfall Strike, the Weekly Heroic Strike Playlist allows players to complete three strikes for up to 45 Legendary Marks. You can complete the strike on one character, or three separate characters. It doesn’t matter since the April update.

Dismantle Old Legendary Gear

The simplest way to earn Legendary Marks is to dismantle your old Legendary Gear. This means you’ll need to finally part with the Found Verdict or Jolder’s Hammer you’ve been hanging onto for God knows how long. Once you dismantle them you’ll receive either 3 Legendary Marks, if the item had never been leveled up, or 4 to 5 Legendary Marks if you had leveled the item up entirely. Both Armor and Weapons can be dismantled, so go ahead and clean out your vault. You’re going to need that space for all those new cool weapons and pieces of gear releasing with Rise of Iron.

These are the only sure-fire ways to earn Legendary Marks at the moment. It should also be mentioned that players won’t begin earning Legendary Marks until after they have reached the game’s Level 40 cap. Once you have reached that point, and you’re only leveling up based on Light Level, the Legendary Marks will begin to drop for you, and you’ll be able to save them up and spend them at merchants around The Tower and The Reef. Destiny: Rise of Iron releases on September 20, so make sure you’re ready to hit the ground running and defend The Traveler from a new and dangerous enemy.
