So sit back, relax, and let these Disney Afternoon Collection tips and tricks allow you to hit the ground running!
Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers
Score a Slam Dunk
As with many of the classic Nintendo games, Chip ‘n Dale can be played with a friend. One person takes control of Chip, while the other plays as Dale. Not only is this more fun, it also allows you to access areas that wouldn’t be accessible with only one player. One such area is in the sewer section of the second level. When you reach the area where you need to throw your partners, step on the two switches and you’ll unlock a secret basketball level where you can get some 1-on-1 in before continuing with the rest of the game.
Amazon Level Early Secret
Early in the Amazon level you may notice a vine leading down to an underground area. Once you drop down to the lower level use Scrooge’s cane like a golf club and knock the small totem to the left toward the statue. You can then use the totem to pogo jump on top of the statue and continue across the top of the screen and into a secret room to the far left. There are plenty of treasure chests full of loot waiting for you.
Amazon Level Boss Access
In the Amazon level of DuckTales, you need to obtain at least $300,000 before you can fight the boss. However, if you were lazy and didn’t collect enough diamonds to make the cut, there is a way around this limitation. Head back and coax one of the nearby enemies into the room with the statue on the right. You can then use the enemy to pogo jump into the boss room. Even if you collected the money needed, this little trick allows you to all of that money.
Launchpad’s Sky Stash
There are several times during the game in which Launchpad McQuack will offer Scrooge a ride back to Duckburg (the level select screen). However, if you have collected exactly $70,000 when you take Launchpad up on this offer, instead of going back to the level select menu you’ll be dropped off in a sky level where Gyro will rain diamonds down on the eagerly awaiting Scrooge.
First Hidden Bonus Stage
There are plenty of secret areas hidden in all of the Disney Afternoon Collection games. The first one in TaleSpin can be found near the location where you first meet Don Karnage. Look for a group of cargo boxes nearby. Shoot the cargo boxes to reveal the hidden area where you’ll take control of Kit Cloudkicker as you collect fruit and pop as many balloons as you can in the limited time available.
