The Dragon Ball FighterZ beta was announced at Evolution 2017. However, details were scarce when the announcement was made. We knew that the Dragon Ball FighterZ beta sign-ups were set to begin on July 26, 2017. However, the sign-up date was delayed to August 22 with the actual beta set to take place September 16 - 18. Before you get too upset, the reason for the delay was because Arc System Works and Bandai Namco wanted to increase the number of players that can access the beta. Due to overwhelming demand, the development team behind Dragon Ball Fighterz decided the previous number of planned beta participants would not have met demand.
The beta will include Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Trunks, Cell, Buu, Frieza, Krillin, Piccolo, Android 16 and Android 18. North American PS4 owners can sign-up at the Bandai Namco site. The site has been up and down all morning, so you may need to refresh several times. European PS4 owners can sign-up for beta registration online, while Xbox One owners will need to go through the Xbox Insider Hub program in North America and Europe. There are limited spots available in the beta and players will be randomly selected. This is not a first come, first serve beta. However, if you want to get into the beta, a near guaranteed way is to download the Xbox Insider Hub app right now and check to see if the beta is available for download in the Insider Content section. Almost everyone who does this will get in based on reports coming in from Xbox One owners. Good luck to everyone hoping to get in!
Check your emails as notifications are starting to go out to confirm participation in the beta, or inform people that the beta is full. Either way, if you signed up for the PS4 beta you should have an email already, or be receiving one very soon. Pre-loading for the PS4 beta begins September 13 at 3:00pm PDT. Xbox Insiders who got into the beta can pre-load the title as of September 12. If you’re looking for more information on the game to prepare for the beta, be sure to check out our details on how to play that can be found in our Dragon Ball FighterZ game hub. There you’ll find detailed information on the combat system to get a jump on the competition before the beta kicks off, as well as the characters that Bandai Namco and Arc System Works have already announced. We'll also be adding information on the newly announced open beta that's coming in January 2018.
