The Elder Scrolls Online: Arx Corinium Dungeon Boss Guide

How to beat the five bosses of the Arx Corinium dungeon!

The Arx Corinium dungeon is designed for a party range of level 28 to 32. While ranged damage dealers (DPS) work better than melee DPS classes, there isn’t a specific party make-up that you need to worry about. The key to this dungeon is having a good healer. Many of the bosses spawn several adds to help them in battle, and the party will take damage as a whole in several of the boss battles. Without a good healer, you may have trouble making it through the five bosses in this dungeon.

How to beat Fanged Menace

Like many dungeon boss fights in The Elder Scrolls Online, the Fanged Menace boss battle centers around taking care of the adds and proper movement to avoid area of effect (AoE) attacks. As the fight begins, focus almost exclusively on taking down the adds as quickly as possible. This is not as easy as it sounds because the Fanged Menace will use several AoE attacks while you’re engaging the adds. Be careful to avoid as many of the AoE attacks as possible to make life easier for the healer.

Once the adds are down, focus on the boss. You still need to keep an eye out for AoE attacks, but for the most part, this is a fairly straightforward battle once you’ve taken care of the adds. The only other concern is the poison cloud attack that the boss uses at approximately 50 percent health. Avoid this and the fight is as good as over.

How to beat Ganakton the Tempest

Ranged DPS classes work out a bit better against this boss, but overall, it shouldn’t be too much of an issue if you only have melee DPS. The boss hits very hard, so the healer will have to put in some work to ensure the party stays alive. As long as you avoid Ganakton’s frontal AoE attack, it shouldn’t be too difficult to get through a vast majority of this battle. The boss will randomly attack party members, so the healer must be ready to take care of the damage caused by these random attacks.

When Ganakton begins to charge, make sure any melee DPS move back to a safe distance to avoid the attack that follows. The boss executes a lightning attack that hits any party members nearby for a hefty amount of damage. The healer will already have to work during this battle. Getting hit with Ganakton’s lightning attack will make things more difficult.

How to beat Sliklenia the Songstress

During the battle against Sliklenia the Songstress, you will have to deal with adds that spawn continuously. When the adds spawn, take them down as quickly as possible before returning focus to the boss. When Sliklenia walks away from the party and starts to sing, stay away from her and continue to take down the adds. You do not want to be anywhere near Sliklenia during this attack. In addition, be careful to block her Power Attacks. If you can do this and handle the adds, it won’t take much to bring her down.

How to beat Ancient Lurcher

This battle is a burden on the tank, as the Lurcher randomly attacks party members fairly often. This also means that the healer needs to be ready to take care of any party members that are randomly attacked, while ensuring the entire party is well healed to avoid any potential deaths. This is the main difficulty with this battle, so as long as you have a solid healer, there isn’t much to worry about.

Additionally, there are several adds that spawn that need to be taken care of as quickly as possible. The longer the adds are alive, and harder the fight becomes. At the same time, as you defeat each add, the battle becomes easier and easier. Because of this, it’s best to focus on one add at a time, unless your party has powerful AoE attacks.

How to beat Sellistrix the Lamia Queen

As with many of the other battles in this dungeon, Sellistrix is a strain on the healer. The boss uses a good number of AoE attacks that damage the entire party. Some are easier to avoid than others, but no matter how good you are at evasion, the entire party will take damage throughout the fight.

When red circles appear on the ground, it’s extremely important to move out of these areas to avoid the AoE attack that follows. Any party member hit by this attack will die instantly or at the very least, take severe damage. With the healer already working overtime during this battle, if a party member takes severe damage from the AoE attack, it will almost certainly result in death. As long as you have a solid healer and the party avoids the AoE attacks as much as possible, this is a manageable battle.
