The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Getting Patch On PlayStation 3 Today…But Still No Dawnguard

Skyrim is getting improvements on PS3... just not Dawnguard right now.

Fus do rah! The PS3 version of Skyrim, which just hasn’t been able to keep up with the Xbox 360 or PC versions in terms of performance, is about to get a boost. Just don’t expect it to get Dawnguard anytime soon. Fus do…huh?

Bethesda has announced that an incoming 1.7 patch for the PS3 version of the game will be arriving “in the coming weeks”. With it, it’ll bring all the various updates from the 1.6 patch, along with several other improvements. However, what it won’t have is Dawnguard, the recent expansion that recently slashed its way to the Xbox 360.

There was a 30-day exclusivity window for the 360, but it’s since passed, yet Bethesda’s VP of marketing Pete Hines stated through his Twitter account, “We have not announced Dawnguard for any other platform, nor given a timeline for any such news. If we have news, I promise I’ll tell you.” However, he didn’t state that the door was closed on the PS3 version, stating, “I was simply stating that expecting/demanding something today is unfounded. Not that news is never coming.” Soooo…soon?

Meanwhile, enjoy the update, I’m sure it’ll help you in your quest to kill more dragons.
