Far Cry 3 promotional material has so far mainly focused on the single-player aspects, up until now; you lucky people have been offered a co-op trailer.
The very trailer we speak of has been embedded below for your convenience, and within it you’ll find some sneaky peaks at some rather explosive-looking co-op action. Alongside the sounds from the game (and boy does it sound good), there’s a commentary detailing a little on how the co-op ties into the game proper.
Co-operative play puts you on Far Cry 3’s beautiful tropical island 6 months prior to the events of the single-player campaign, in effect becoming a prequel. Four characters, who you won’t be finding in single-player, are available for you and your friends to choose from. The places you’ll be visiting are also completely exclusive to the co-operative mode.
There are classes to choose from too; play as Warrior, Rusher, Deadeye, Saboteur or Bodyguard. There’s loads of emphasis put on the friendly competition too, with the game keeping a tally of your skills and kills for bragging rights while you complete a mission together.
The best bit though: SPLIT SCREEN! Far too overlooked in these days of internet-connected consoles.
