Far Cry 4 – Escape from Durgesh Prison Comes Out January 13

Yetis, new Hurk missions and a cool PvP mode in this new Far Cry 4 DLC.

Every night it’s the same thing, loved ones go to sleep and we play Far Cry 4.  Our journey through Kyrat is almost never the same twice. Sometimes we complete campaign missions to push Ajay Ghale’s story forward, and most times we get distracted hunting for Propaganda Posters or taking control of Bell Towers. That is, when we’re not running from tigers and bears.

There’s so much to do we often feel overwhelmed, but regardless of how many Masks of Yalung we have left or fortresses to storm, there’s always room for more content. With that in mind, Ubisoft plans to bring the first piece of DLC to Far Cry 4 on January 13, 2015.

Escape from Durgesh Prison brings new challenges to an already feature packed experience. Chief among them begins in Yuma’s prison, where Ajay and Hurk wake up after being tortured. After escaping, the goal is to complete a series of objectives from dictator Pagan Min while finding weapons and items along the way. Die, and you restart from the beginning without all of the equipment you acquired.

In addition, there’s the Hurk Deluxe Pack, which contains five missions (Yak Farm, Blood Ruby and Hurk’s Redemption to name a few) for players in both single and co-op modes. From there, gamers will take part in Overrun, where they choose a side (Rakshasa or Golden Path) and battle in PvP while attempting to control various points throughout Kyrat. There’s also The Syringe, already available to Season Pass subscribers, where the idea is to prevent Min’s soldiers from stealing a secret recipe.

Finally, there’s the most appealing feature of all, Valley of the Yetis. Ajay crash lands in the snowy Himalayan mountains. Playing solo or with a friend, players will need to combat a ruthless cult and also deal with presumably terrifying yetis.

Escape from Durgesh Prison will be sold on its own for $9.99 or as part of the $29.99 season pass. Considering how much we play Far Cry 4, the latter seems to be the best option since we’ll save 20 percent once all the DLC is available.
