Auto Battle

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius features an auto battle system that will handle many of the battle tactics for you. This is a nice feature early in the game when you’re fighting against fairly weak enemies, but it’s not something you should rely on. The auto battle system doesn’t work well with limit breaks, items or magic, which means it won’t be using them when you really need it.

You may want to use auto battle in the early portion of the game, but you should micromanage your team as early as possible. When you get a bit further into the game the auto battle system will be virtually useless and you’ll have to rely exclusively on your own ability to control your party. If you’re not accustomed to this, these later battles may not go well for you, so it’s best to practice on easier enemies early in the game.

Party Organization

The order of your party isn’t necessarily the most important aspect of combat in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, but it does play a role. Generally speaking you want to order your party so that the rarest characters come first. The rarity of a character determines how powerful they can get, so by sorting your party in order or rarity you’re essentially grouping them by power level.

Espers

Espers improve your characters significantly. Not only will you see stat boosts and new magic spells, but it also gives your characters elements, which have their own strengths and weaknesses. You can also level up Espers just like you level up characters. All you need to do is equip the Esper so that it’s used in battle and you’ll gain experience points for it. Make sure to match elements when you assign Espers because that gives them a 1.5 XP bonus so you can level them up faster.

It’s also possible to train your Espers in a similar fashion to the Final Fantasy X skill tree system. You can spend statistical points (SP) earned from leveling up your Espers in order to give them various stat boosts. If that weren’t enough, you can also evolve your Espers. If you battle against an Esper of the same type you can evolve your Esper, which not only increases its stats, but also gives you more options with training and even summoning magic.

Combo System

There are a couple of ways you can string together attacks to create combos in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. The easiest and most beneficial way to use the combo system is by having a few characters use multiple attacks of the same element in rapid succession to create an elemental chain. You can also perform a spark chain with individual characters attacking the same target at virtually the same time. This requires a bit more dexterity, which can be difficult on a mobile app, but the additional damage is more than worth it.
