After releasing for nearly every current gaming platform, Fortnite finally made its debut on Android via closed beta earlier this summer. Only those who were invited to join the Fortnite beta were able to try out the game on Android. Epic Games has made some changes since then, and now all Android users with compatible devices can participate in the Fortnite beta without an invitation.
If you’re looking to download Fortnite on your Android device, don’t bother going to the Play Store. All you need to do is visit this link from your Android device and scan the QR code to download the game directly from the Epic Games website.
While it’s great that Epic has opened up the Fortnite beta to everyone, you still need to have a compatible device in order to run the game. Here are the specifications that Epic recommends for playing Fortnite on Android:
- OS: Recommended Android 8.0 or later, 64 bit
- RAM: Recommended 4GB or higher
- GPU: Adreno 530 or higher, Mali-G71 MP20, Mali-G72 MP12 or higher
You can find a more detailed list of compatible devices on Epic’s FAQ page for Fortnite on Android. Basically, the newer the Android, the better. This will ensure that the game has better stability and less performance issues.
