Fortnite’s infamous comet finally touched down this week to initiate the start of Season 4, and with it came a number of new landmarks and secret locations in Fortnite Battle Royale. From numerous crater locations containing gravity-defying Hop Rocks, to hidden supervillain hideouts and a missile silo, there’s plenty of Season 4 map changes to discover in Fortnite. Below, we’ve listed some of the most prominent map changes on the Fortnite Season 4 map for players who are interested in exploring all the new locations, secrets, and landmarks throughout the map.

Dusty Divot (Formerly Dusty Depot)

One of the biggest changes to hit the new Season 4 map (literally) is the massive crater near the center of the map at what was formerly Dusty Depot. The impact site, now called Dusty Divot, consists of an expansive hole in the ground where players can find a new gravity-defying consumable called Hop Rocks.

Dusty Divot wasn’t the only place impacted by the comet in Fortnite. A number of small craters can be found in various cities and locations throughout the Season 4 map, such as Tilted Towers. While Tilted didn't get destroyed like everyone predicted, it did get pummeled a bit by comet fragments. These smaller impact sites also contain Hop Rocks for players looking to evade enemies using their low-gravity effects.

Risky Reels Location

In the northeast corner of the Season 4 map, players can find a new location called Risky Reels. As the name suggests, Risky Reels is a drive-in theater that happens to be the place we see get struck by the comet shard in the Fortnite Season 4 announce trailer. The large projector screen on the south side of Risky Reels has a huge hole in it where the comet shard tore through, which also happens to be where players can find one of the Fortnite letter locations.

Mysterious Dinosaur Footprint

Fortnite Dinosaur Footprint Easter Egg

Near the houses just beyond Snobby Shores and Greasy Grove, players have discovered what appears to be a massive dinosaur footprint. A partial roof and some rubble are all that remain of a house that collapsed beneath the foot of some three-toed creature. Reddit user Qpaniic shared this discovery on Reddit, prompting fans to theorize on the origins of this mysterious dinosaur print. Perhaps the comets brought more to Fortnite than just Hop Rocks.

Superhero Hideout

Fortnite Superhero Hideout

To coincide with the superhero theme of Fortnite Season 4, there are what appear to be multiple superhero headquarters and supervillain hideouts sprinkled throughout the map. One of these hideouts is found beneath the new mansion on the east side of the map near Lonely Lodge.

Players can access this superhero base through a staircase found in the bottom floor of the mansion. Those who take the time to find this Batcave-like superhero hideout will be handsomely rewarded with chests and other loot.

Supervillain Lair Missile Silo

Fortnite Missile Silo Supervillain Base

Over by Pleasant Park on the west end of the Fortnite map, players can find a mysterious missile silo sticking up from the top of what looks like a robotic-looking supervillain lair built on the side of a mountain. Like the superhero hideout beneath the mansion, the supervillain base near Pleasant Park contains plenty of loot for players who are willing to risk taking a plunge down the silo itself.

The missile looks primed and ready for takeoff, though where this missile aims to strike is anyone’s guess. Perhaps the map destruction in Fortnite isn’t over just yet.

Flush Factory Nightclub

Epic Games always seems to enjoy encouraging players to dance in Fortnite. After the addition of new dance floor locations during Season 3, Epic has now added a much larger nightclub just northeast of Flush Factory for Season 4. Just follow the synth music. The dance hall features a glowing dance floor big enough to fit a few squads at least. This new nightclub may be the focus of future weekly challenges or dance competitions in Fortnite, so be sure to get your emotes ready.

Film Studios in Moisty Mire and Junk Junction

Besides being a great place to gather wood in Fortnite, Moisty Mire didn’t have much else to offer players last season. Moisty Mire has since received a bit of an upgrade for Season 4, as it now features a decent sized film studio complete with props, studio rooms, a crashed helicopter, and multiple green screens.

Like Moisty Mire, Junk Junction has also received a facelift for Season 4. A large hangar has been added to Junk Junction containing another film studio with multiple rooms and loot opportunities. Hopefully this will help incentivize players to land at these locations for more than just resources. Perhaps these film studios are related to Season 4’s superhero theme as well.

Those are some of the new cities, landmarks, and locations that players can discover throughout the Season 4 map in Fortnite Battle Royale. Note that this list may not contain all of the secrets and easter eggs that arrived with the start of Season 4. These are some of the most prominent map changes we know of so far.
