Fortnite’s final v7.10 content update landed earlier today, introducing a brand new weapon and several gameplay adjustments to Fortnite Battle Royale. The patch update arrives just a day after the extension of the 14 Days of Fortnite event, which has been brought back for another week so that players can earn challenge rewards they may have missed over the holidays.
Suppressed Sniper Rifle
Today’s content update introduces a new Suppressed Sniper Rifle to Fortnite, which offers a stealthier approach for players who enjoy long range sniping. It’s a single-shot sniper rifle that fires a quieter shot but does lower damage than its unsuppressed equivalent. Suppressed Sniper Rifles come in Epic and Legendary variants and can be found in chests, vending machines, and supply drops, as well as on the ground as floor loot.
X-4 Stormwing Nerfs
The newly introduced X-4 Stormwing plane received several nerfs, which include a decrease in damage and spawn chance reduction. According to today’s 7.10 patch notes, the gameplay adjustments for the Stormwing in Fortnite are as follows:
- The knockback a player receives after being hit by a Stormwing has been decreased by 70%.
- Damage done to the Stormwing from colliding with structures has been increased by 50%.
- Impact damage reduction while boosting through structures reduced from 50% to 25%
- Increased the spread of the Stormwing machine gun by 75%.
- Stormwing spawn chance has been decreased to 80% from 100%.
Along with the Stormwing nerfs come a number of various other gameplay adjustments across the board. Six Shooters have been vaulted while Dual Pistols have been unvaulted, and the drop rates for Dynamite and Boom Boxes have been reduced.
