If you search for Fortnite in the App Store you’ll find that the app is marked as an invite event. Essentially, you can download the app, but you won’t be able to play it without an invite. If you’re looking to get an invite you can head over to the Fortnite website here, then click on “Sign up for Email Invite” to continue. Answer the questions that follow and create an account if you don’t already have one.

Some lucky people will have a friend who already got an invite. If you fall into this category they can just shoot you an invite. If you get accepted via a friend invite or directly from Epic Games, you’ll get an email that allows you to activate your account and start playing Fortnite on iOS. If you haven’t received an invite, Epic Games will continue inviting more and more players at a steady pace, so keep checking your email.

It should also be noted that you must have iOS 11 and at least 2GB of storage in order to download and install the app. It will only work on iPhone 6s and SE, the 2017 iPad, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 4. As you might expect, you’ll need to be online in order to play as well.
