"We are beginning a new saga with Halo 4 and embarking on a journey that will encompass the next decade of Halo games and experiences," Microsoft Studios' Vice President stated today.

"Millions of fans worldwide have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to step back into the boots of Master Chief, and, with Halo 4 leading the charge, we're confident 2012 will be the most successful year in Xbox history."

Confirmation of the 6th November releases comes after rumors were spread following tweets from Alison Stroll, senior producer at 343 Industries and Major Nelson, which were picked up and highlighted by a few eagle-eyed gamers inlcuding popular tech site The Verge, who also claimed to have reliable info that the release date was indeed to be announced before noon today.
