Ed Boon Says Injustice Sequel Possible

The NetherRealm Studios head honcho tweets that a sequel could happen in the future.

Ed Boon has always been active on Twitter, but yesterday he provided some insight into the future of the Injustice: Gods Among Us franchise. When asked about the possibility of a sequel to the popular fighting game, Boon indicated that there was definitely a possibility. In similar tweets he also indicated that the team is working on a new game, but a sequel to Injustice or Mortal Kombat would happen before anything along the lines of Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe 2.

If history is anything to go by, we can expect an announcement of a new title from NetherRealm early next year, with a release date of Spring 2015. The most likely choice is Mortal Kombat 10, but there have been rumors of a sequel to Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks as well. Whatever the case may be, with NetherRealm owned by Warner Bros., the availability of the DC license is certainly there.
