AVP, or Andromeda Viability Points, are the basic metric that the Andromeda Initiative uses to determine how successful player’s operations as a Pathfinder have been in the Heleus Cluster. These points are extremely important to the game’s overall progress, and players who earn a 100 percent AVP rating will receive a special ceremony and reward. What is AVP?

Before we dive too deeply, let’s take a look at the basic definition of AVP. Fully titled Andromeda Viability Points, this metric is used to determine how well the Pathfinder is doing his or her job. The higher the AVP score, the closer the player is to satisfying the Andromeda Initiative’s core mission to make the Heleus Cluster more viable for the Milky Way races. Your overall accrued AVP is displayed in the top-right corner of the pause menu, and these points are used to raise the level of the Nexus, which opens up new areas for you to explore and find side quests in.

Planets themselves have separate Viability Ratings, which are displayed in the HUD of the currently selected planet when looking at planets in the Galaxy Map. Just like the new areas that open on the Nexus with more AVP, planets with higher Viability Ratings will have more colonial activity, which allows for increased population, new side quests and additional activities.

How to Get More AVP

If you want to raise the value of your Andromeda Viability Points, you need to complete various activities throughout the game. Many side operations will reward you with AVP to go with your character experience, which makes completing these side quests important if you wish to unlock all of the Nexus’ various areas and available operations.

Completing activities on the main planets within the game will also reward you with more AVP, as well as more Viability Points for those particular planets. Below, we listed several actions that you can complete to raise your Viability Points on planets like Eos, Voeld, Havarl, Kadara, and Elaaden.

  • Explore and unlock a Remnant Vault – rewards +40% Viability Rating
  • Complete the UNC’s (Uncharted World) main plot – rewards +10% Viability Rating
  • Defeat the planet’s Architect – rewards +10% Viability Rating
  • Complete the UNC’s “B-story” operations – rewards +10% Viability Rating
  • Complete side operations – rewards +2% to +5% Viability Rating per mission
  • Establish a Forward Station – rewards +2% Viability Rating per Forward Station
  • Destroy Enemy Outposts and Bases – rewards +10% Viability Rating

Depending on the difficulty of each action include above, the Viability Rating percentage rewarded may vary from operation to operation.

As we mentioned above, completing each planet and earning a full 100 percent Viability Rating in the Heleus Cluster will reward players with a special ceremony. The easiest way to earn this is focus on each Uncharted World as you unlock them, and complete operations and activities there until you reach a 100 percent Viability Rating on that planet. Once done, you can then move on to the next planet without any worries. You do not have to complete every single quest in the game to unlock this special ceremony, or to achieve a 100 percent Viability Rating on every Uncharted World in the Heleus Cluster
