A job listing on EA’s site has led to speculation that Mercenaries 2 is under development.

What is known is that EA is developing a third-person shooter of some description. The job listing was spotted by Gamerzines, the post on the recruitment site EA runs reads “EA Los Angeles is looking for an experienced multiplayer Level Designer to work on an unannounced third person shooter game with strong multiplayer focus.”
The title is to use DICE’s engine Frostbite 2, soon to be used in Battlefield 3. Pandemic, the studio who made the first two were shut down by their parent, EA back in 2008. Though we did hear that EA were working on a new Mercenaries in 2009 we haven’t since had any more news.
