Metal Gear Rising Revengeance To Introduce New Playable Character?

New DLC will allow you to play as different characters instead of Raiden. Could Solid Snake be far behind?

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance is still months away from its 2013 release, but it’s a highly anticipated one with plenty of slice-and-dice action and over-the-top situations that you’ll be able to cut through with Raiden.  It looks like another character may be joining the fray, if reports are to be believed.

Hybrid Games is stating that Kojima Productions producer Yuji Korekado has let on plans for the game’s upcoming downloadable content.  Apparently, Kojima’s team, in collaboration with the game’s developer, Platinum Games, will release new DLC content that “will allow you to play maybe as a different character or some new missions.”

They stopped sort of giving any additional details, like pricing or who that character might be, but could we be seeing Solid Snake make some sort of appearance in the game?  It’d make sense, since Raiden and Snake previously appeared together in Metal Gear Solid 2, and have crossed paths more than once when it comes to being on the battlefield.  We’ll let you know when official details are unveiled.

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance hits early next year for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
