THQ Releases Metro: Last Light Short Film

Find out more about the story behind the game.

In what seems to be a growing trend for game companies that want to promote their upcoming products, THQ has released a short film that explains the events that you’ll stumble into when you pick up Metro: Last Light for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC next year.

The film tells the brief but concise story about the nuclear attack that leaves the Russian landscape looking the way it does, and really shows off some great quality in its brief length. This is the second web film to recently release to promote a product, as Ubisoft released Ghost Recon Alpha last week to promote the debut of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier, now in stores.

It’s a growing trend, and one we’d definitely like to see more of going into E3. Sure, it might be a little costly, but you’ll have more people talking about your powerful short film than a forgettable commercial that shows tiny gameplay snipets, right? Sometimes it’s just best to take the route of quality.

Anyway, you can view the Metro: Last Light trailer below, and look forward to E3 impressions in the weeks ahead. Who says a nuclear disaster doesn’t have any benefit?
