If you really want to get the most out of Monster Hunter: World, then you’re going to want to learn how to play the game’s multiplayer co-op, which allows you to team up with your friends and take on some of the biggest and baddest monsters in the game. Playing with others is the best way to take down a lot of monsters in a short span of time and earn extra reward. In this article we’ll show you how to setup a multiplayer game and invite your friends to play with you in Monster Hunter: World.

How to Play Multiplayer

There are currently two different setups you can use to play multiplayer in Monster Hunter: World. The first way is to simply matchmake with other players looking to team up. This will allow you to get into a game quickly and easily, though you won’t get to choose the people that you’re playing with, so this option might not be for everyone.

To matchmake with random online players, find the quest you want to play and then select it. Then you’ll need to select the spawn that you want to use. Once you have selected your spawn, confirm the selection.

Once you are in the multiplayer menu for the quest, choose to Matchmake. This will throw you into the available matchmaking pool for that particular quest, allowing you to team up with random online players.

If you want to play with your friends, though, you will want to set things up in advance. Let your friends know what time you guys will be hopping into a game, and then choose the quest that you want to play. Once you’ve chosen your quest and have confirmed the selection, locate the Create Your Own Quest button in the menu.

From here you’ll be given a Quest ID that you can give to other players, allowing them to easily join your game. From here you can dive right into the hunt and you friends can easily join you for the ride. If for some reason matchmaking fails, then you can pick out your options and find the game you want to join by fine tuning the matchmaking settings.

That’s all you need to know to play multiplayer in Monster Hunter: World. Remember to get with your friends beforehand and get them the Quest ID if you want to have the easiest time setting up a match.
