How to Unlock High Rank Quests

High Rank gear, missions, and quests in Monster Hunter: World are exactly what you would expect. They’re more difficult missions and adventures that will reward players with better gear and items to help them grow their hunter in Monster Hunter: World. These items will offer more defense options, skills, and weapons for players to unlock and acquire.

If you want to unlock High Rank content in Monster Hunter: World, then you’re going to need to make it through the main story of the game until you face off against Zorah Magdaros for a second time. This fight is quite intensive and involves climbing up the monsters once more and fighting off another Nergigante. You’ll also have to go through the trouble of defending the barricades again, which can be quite daunting for many players who haven’t sufficiently leveled in the game.

Once you’ve beaten Zorah Magdaros for a second time you will unlock a new quest called “Invader in the Waste”. This expedition tasks you with making your way to the Wildspire Waste, where you’ll need to hunt down and kill a Pukei-Pukei. When this quest is completed, and you return to Astera once more, you’ll find High Rank quests and other content unlocked and available to you. This will include new quests, weapons, and even new rewards that you can obtain from hunting monsters in the wild.

How to Craft High Rank Armor

After you have unlocked High Rank Armor, you can find it easily by heading to the Smithy where you can select Forge Equipment. This will display a total of two different tabs for you, Low Rank Armor and High Rank Armor. Some of the different armors that you will have discovered throughout your journey will now offer a High Rank version that you can craft. Not all of them will, though, and you’ll need to unlock the additional armor sets on your own.

How to Craft High Rank Weapons

When the High Ranked content has been unlocked, you can also head to the Smithy and choose to upgrade your weapons. This will allow you to upgrade your current gear to more powerful versions, which will offer different things like decorations and specialties for you to make use of. These upgrades are exceptionally useful to players, and you should make the most of them as you can.

How to Find High Rank Quests

After completing the “Invader in the Waste” quest, head to the Resource Center or the Quest Board and look out for High Rank quests and other things—like investigations. These items will be marked for you to easily see, and will provide much higher rewards—though they will also present more challenging objectives and fights for players to overcome.
