Dr. Luigi Providing the Cure For Wii U Owners December 31st

Move over, Mario, there's a new doctor in town.

As part of today’s announcement’s in its latest Direct special, Nintendo revealed a quasi-sequel to the classic puzzle game Dr. Mario. This time around, though, his brother, Luigi, will be stepping in to drop a few pills.

In Dr. Luigi, players will be able to eliminate germs on a playfield using multi-colored pills, which they can arrange into combos. This time around, however, there are L-shaped pills that you’ll need to contend with. Master them right and you could create some great multi-hit combos.

This is especially good for multiplayer, as there’s a new tactic you can throw on your opponents. If you nail a combo right before they play their next piece, it’ll change color and throw them off, forcing them to find a new place for it.

Dr. Luigi is set for release on the Wii U starting December 31st, and will include online play and additional modes. Be sure to check it out if you need to start 2014 on the right foot with your gaming.
