Ni No Kuni 2 Enemy Name Color

When you’re running around the overworld map in Ni No Kuni 2, you’ll encounter quite a few enemies. While the level of each enemy is listed to the left of their name, if you pay attention to the color of the enemy names, you’ll know how difficult a fight with that enemy may be. This isn’t always 100 percent accurate, but it’s usually pretty close.

If you’re not trying to get into any challenging fights, stick to blue or white names. A blue name means the enemy is weak compared to your party, while a white name means the enemy party should be around the same level as your party, making for an even fight (which means you should win the battle). In fights against blue or white named enemies, you probably won’t even need to use items.

When you see enemies that have red names, it indicates that the enemy party will be more difficult to fight against. If you see a red name, always look at the level. If the enemy is only two or three levels above your current party level, you can probably still win the fight. Any higher than that and not only will you almost certainly need items, the fight will be a distinct challenge.
