Walmart Nintendo Switch Pre-Orders Updating Daily

Find out the best way to get a Nintendo Switch pre-order at Walmart.

Many people have been trying to buy a Nintendo Switch since stores started offering the new console last week. If you’re looking to get a Walmart pre-order for the Nintendo Switch, we’ve got some advice that will hopefully help you lock in a Walmart pre-order before the Nintendo Switch releases on March 3, 2017. It won’t be easy as you’ll have to keep a vigilant eye on Walmart’s website, but it can be done.

First and foremost, you should know that all stores are sold out of the Nintendo Switch at the moment. However, as retailers confirm their shipments, they will be making stock available for additional pre-orders. There are a variety of software applications that will automatically refresh pages (such as Chrome extensions) and let you know when an item is available for pre-order.

In the case of Walmart, you can pre-order the console via this link, but it’s only available with the grey Joy-Con controllers. While limited new orders have been available almost every day since Switch pre-orders became available, you have to be quick before they’re sold out again. In addition, most new pre-orders from Walmart will arrive on March 7th (with expedited shipping) or March 8th (in-store pick-up) instead of March 3rd. However, getting one a few days later is better than not getting one at all.

Another opportunity to pick up a Walmart pre-order is to visit your local Walmart stores (as many as you can) and head over to the Pickup desk (usually where you collect online orders). Some Walmart locations will allow you to put down 10 percent up front (roughly $30) to secure your pre-order. Let’s be clear here, not all Walmart locations have the availability to do this, and even the stores that allow in-store pre-orders may not guaranteed a March 3rd delivery. However, you should be able to get release information from the stores that are allowing pre-orders.
