How to Get Chromatic Metal

The first step to getting Chromatic Metal is going to be to get your hands on Copper. In order to mine Copper, you’re going to need to get your hands on the Terrain-manipulator. This item can be found acquired by simply following the main storyline, which should give you access to the blueprints without too much trouble.

Once you have the blueprints, make the upgrade for your Multi-Tool, and then you can change between the weapon types at any time in order to allow you to manipulate terrain and gather Copper. Once this is done, open up your Visor and look around for Copper Deposits, which should be marked. Head to one and then mine it up.

When you have a steady supply of Copper in your pockets, it’s time to pull out your Portable Refiner. This item allows you refine basic minerals and resources into more advanced items, like Chromatic Metal. You can place Copper into this machine, and then fuel it using Carbon or another fuel source. Doing this will allow you to refine Copper into Chromatic Metal.

After you’ve made your Chromatic Metal, you can start building more advanced items, like the Base Computer you need in order to build and claim a base in No Man’s Sky. You’ll also want to make sure you know how to change camera mode as well as how to play multiplayer.
