Nintendo Switch Exclusive Octopath Traveler Could Be Coming to PC

Previously only on the Nintendo Switch, it looks like PC players could be getting in on some Octopath Travel fun.

Octopath Traveler is a stunning RPG experience from Square Enix build specifically for Nintendo’s hybrid console, the Switch. Until this point, it was thought to stay a Nintendo Switch exclusive, but a new Korea’s Game Rating and Administration Committee rating seems to point at a possible PC release.

Though the rating itself has since been removed, one keen-eyed ResetEra user managed to screengrab the sighting. The Korean Rating Board has been a pretty big giveaway for a lot of titles in the past, giving the latest rumor some viable merit (Sunset Overdrive for PC, anyone?).

According to the spotted rating, the possible PC port will be helmed by Bandai Namco, which is an interesting move for the beloved RPG. We’ve reached out to both Bandai and Square Enix for comment.

The move to make Octopath Traveler would be an amazing one, especially so since both Microsoft and Nintendo have been very vocal in recent months about bridging the gap between platforms. With Xbox and PC closer than ever before and the Nintendo Switch reportedly getting the Xbox Game Pass, a possible PC port seems more likely now than it has in the past.

For those that don’t want to wait to see if this rumor proves true, Octopath Traveler is available now on Nintendo Switch. For more about the game:

“Step into the shoes of a traveler to inherit their struggles and strengths. Use each character’s special abilities to interact with the world and enhance your tactics in turn-based battles. The Dancer’s alluring charm leads followers into battle, whereas the Apothecary can mix items to heal allies or unleash explosive attacks. Discover enemy weaknesses and target them to break through their defenses. Store Boost Points with each turn and then spend them at strategic times to strengthen abilities, chain attacks, or provide aid. Choose the path you wish to walk and discover what lies beyond the horizon.”
