PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been slowly making its way through Early Access on PC throughout this past year. For the past several months, rumors have abounded around the internet about the game making its way to the Xbox One. Up until now, though, there’s been no official release information about when the game will make its way onto Microsoft’s console. Of course, that all changed today when the Xbox website posted an announcement revealing that PUBG will be making its way onto Xbox One this December.
The news broke in a post on the Xbox website, where Chang Han Kim, the CEO of PUBG Corp, revealed that the team will be approaching the development of the Xbox One version of the game with the same community-driven focus that they have approached the development of the Windows PC version. News also broke today that the team is looking to launch PUBG’s 1.0 edition for PC around December as well. So, fans looking to pick the game up on Xbox One can expect to be able to do so on December 12.
No specific date has been given for the release, so we’ll just have to wait for additional news to come about that as we draw closer to the release. News about PUBG’s arrival on the Xbox One—and its subsequent update to 1.0 on PC—isn’t the only news to drop today, though, and fans of the game can most likely look forward to seeing PUBG make its way onto other platforms like the PlayStation 4, as the Xbox One version has been described as a console launch exclusive, which has led many to believe the game will eventually come to other consoles.
There’s no official news on that front, though, and we don’t like to speculate too much, so be sure to keep an eye on PUBG Corp’s reports, as well as on the news coming out of Bluehole about whether you can expect that to happen or not.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on any additional information that comes about from this announcement, and be sure to check out our PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds guides for even more useful information about the game.
