PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ upcoming 4x4km map, Codename: Savage, is now available for beta testing, according to a recent announcement from PUBG Corp. Starting today, PUBG players can sign up to play test Savage on PUBG’s closed experimental server on PC. The play test for the beta map begins at 7:00 pm PT / 10:00 pm ET tonight, April 2.

Players who want an invite to the closed beta test for the Codename: Savage map can sign up at the dedicated PUBG 4x4km map beta key redemption page. To beta test the new map, players must already own a base copy of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on Steam and have their Steam account set to Public.

Players must link their Steam account to the PUBG 4x4 map beta signup page to receive their beta key. The beta key must then be activated through Steam to gain access to the PUBG 4x4km map closed beta test. This first testing phase will be Solo only, with FPP only for NA and EU, and TPP only for every other region.

PUBG Savage Map beta test signups

There is a limited quantity of beta keys available for this round of beta testing, so if you don’t make it into this beta test, you’ll have to wait until the next testing phase to try out the upcoming PUBG map. The PUBG Codename: Savage map beta test will run from today until April 5 at 4:00 am PT / 7:00 am ET.

The goal of the beta test is to get the PUBG community involved in the early stages of development for the 4x4km map to ensure the map is designed with player wishes in mind. According to today’s announcement, PUBG Corp. plans to host larger play tests once the new map reaches a better state.

The 4x4km map is a smaller, more fast-paced map that was initially revealed within PUBG’s 2018 Roadmap, which outlines what PUBG has in store for the year ahead. Fans got a sneak peek of the map itself in PUBG’s One Year Anniversary video, where the creators of PUBG thanked players for their ongoing support.
