Originally released on the PlayStation 2 back in 2006, Shadow of the Colossus was a masterpiece back then, and now Sony is looking to breathe new life into the epic adventure directed by Fumito Ueda. The game features the same masterful gameplay and art direction as the original, but will launch with improved visuals, performance, and a slew of additional features to make your journey even more enjoyable.

Set to release in July of 2018, players will be able to dive into a magical world filled with thrilling adventures, puzzles, and beautiful vistas as they set out across the land to take down 16 massive giants and save a girl’s life in Shadow of the Colossus.

Ghost of Tsushima

Not much is yet known about Sucker Punch Productions upcoming game, Ghost of Tsushima, but with games like infamous and the Sly Collection under their belt, many fans are excited about the samurai adventure that they’ll undertake in Ghost of Tsushima. All we really know right now is that the game will release on PlayStation 4, that Sucker Punch is making it, and that it takes place during feudal Japan when the Samurai were at their most pristine. The game looks gorgeous from the scenes we’ve seen so far, and with such an impressive array of games behind them, it’s hard for fans to not to be excited about Ghost of Tsushima.

Monster Hunter: World

Monster Hunter: World might not be a PlayStation 4 exclusive, but that doesn’t stop it from being one of the most anticipated games of 2018. Set to release in January, the game gives players the Monster Hunter treatment from the comfort of their couches. Improved visuals, expertly crafted areas and maps, as well as detailed monster hunts help bring this game to life on the PS4. Players will need to use their wit and weapons to track down the biggest and baddest monsters of the world. Once found, you’ll have to figure out their weaknesses and take them down to complete a hunt. While Monster Hunter: World isn’t exclusive to the PS4, its still something that PS4 players should look into picking up when it releases next year.

Spider-Man

Insomniac Games has made quite a name for themselves when it comes to making quality video games, and their upcoming remake of Spider-Man looks to be on par with previous releases from their catalogue. There’s no official release date for the game just yet, but fans can look forward to learning more about the new web-slinger’s story as Insomniac reveals more over the coming months. So far, though, we do know that the game will offer a massive open-world for players to explore, and that the game’s fighting mechanics will rival those of other games that have followed the same path—like Shadow of Mordor and more.

God of War

It’s been a few years since PlayStation fans got to cut their teeth on a new God of War game, and Sony is looking to finally break the ice with a completely new beginning for Kratos. There’s no official release date yet, but based on the footage and gameplay that we’ve seen from the game so far, we can definitely see why they’ve taken the direction they have, introducing Kratos’ son, whom he’ll need to train and teach in order to show him how to survive in the world that they’ve found themselves in. This is definitely one that PS4 fans will want to keep their eyes on, and we’re sure that new information will start to release over the coming months. These are just a taste of the games coming to the PlayStation 4 in 2018, and we’re sure that PS4 fans will be plenty busy as new games release for the console.
