There’s a Pokemon Fighting Game Coming to Japanese Arcades

Pokken Tournament will debut in 2015.

The Pokemon Company casually released a trailer for an upcoming Pokemon fighting game earlier today, causing the Internet to explode in spectacular fashion. Pokken Tournament is a collaboration between the aformentioned group and Namco Bandai, so it’s mostly appropriate to bill it as Pokemon meets Tekken.

The footage looks glorious, of course, but here’s the thing. It’s a Japanese arcade exclusive, has a vague 2015 release window and there’s no Wii U info of any kind. Will the game come to Nintendo’s console? Silly question because it probably will. Look for an official Nintendo announcement next year, perhaps at E3 2015.
