If you want to have one of the best weapons in the game, then we highly recommend finding the Artemis Golden Pistol, which is obtained from completing the side mission, Golden Gun. In this article we’ll walk you through the entire mission, show you how to get the quest started, and how to find and unlock the golden gun in Prey. It will require a good deal of fighting on your part, so be sure to bring plenty of ammunition along.

How to get the Quest

In order to get the Golden Gun quest started, you’re going to need to find the body of Marietta Kyrkos, whose body can be found on your way up to Alex’s Office in the Arboretum. Unfortunately the main path up is locked, so you’ll need to find a secondary way to reach the office if you want to continue learning more about the Typhon outbreak.

Thankfully, this isn’t too hard. First, look around the area where the Deep Storage entrance is for a sign that points to a Looking Glass screen. Follow the path that leads to the screen, and then break through it using your wrench. Watch out for any Mimics hiding nearby (there are a few currently hiding as boxes). Take out the Mimics, and then use the GLOO Cannon to reach the top of the station through a small shaft in the back of the room.

Once on top of the Looking Glass Station, look for a ledge that you can climb to reach a small walkway beneath the metal bars that hold up Alex’s Office. Climb up to this path, and you should spot the body of a person in front of a Junction box. You can GLOO the junction box to protect yourself, then loot the body and listen to the Transcribe on it.

Listening to the Transcribe will reveal the code for Jada Mark’s safe, which is located inside her cabin in the Crew Quarters. Once you have the code for the safe, make your way to the Bridge, and look for the body of Captain Jada Marks. Search her body to obtain her cabin’s keycard, and then leave the bridge and head down to Crew Quarters.

How to Get the Golden Gun

Once in Crew Quarters, all you need to do is follow the waypoint for the mission until you reach Jada Marks cabin. Once there, look for her safe in the wall, and then enter the combination that you heard on the Transcribe you acquired from the body of Marietta Kyrkos. Once you have the pistol, consider scrapping your regular Silenced Pistol, as the Artemis is a much better version of that weapon.
