Today, Rockstar Games released the third official trailer for their upcoming western-themed open world adventure, Red Dead Redemption 2. The trailer was teased earlier this week on the Rockstar blog and on their official Twitter account, leaving fans eager for another dose of RDR2 details. You can check out all the intense action in the Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer below.

Based on the trailer, the Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequel set in 1899. Lawmen are hunting down what remains of the prominent outlaw gangs, causing the wild west to become a bit less wild everyday. Players take on the role of Arthur Morgan, a prominent outlaw and member of the Van der Linde gang who is struggling with both external and internal conflicts. While there's no multiplayer shown in the trailer, we do get a brief glimpse of a young John Marston.

Today's trailer came with a synopsis from Rockstar that expands upon Morgan's role. "After a robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee," says the Rockstar Games blog.

"With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him."

Red Dead Redemption 2 is scheduled to release for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles on October 26, 2018. RDR2 is gearing up to be one of the biggest games of the year, so be sure to check back here for more details on the upcoming sequel.
