How to Get Your Hat Back

If you manage to lose your hat along the way—and you will—in Red Dead Redemption 2, then there are a few things you can do to get it back nestled on top of your head. Obviously, the first (and the most arduous) way to find it is to go looking for it wherever you might have lost it. This could be anywhere that you’ve traveled over the course of your past few hours of game time, though, which means you could be looking for it for a while.

If you want to make things easier on yourself, then your best bet is to head to the nearest Wardrobe. This is where you can change out your clothes and other apparel, and they can usually be found nearby a bed at whatever camp you happen to be calling home at the time. Walk up to the Wardrobe, interact with it, and then you can cycle through the various options you’ve got available until you find the one you’re looking for. Easy peasy.

If you don’t feel like heading to the nearest camp and Wardrobe, then you can always change out your previous hat for another one in your collect from the comfort of your horse. While on your horse—or next to it—bring up the Weapon Wheel and then tab over to the Horse area. This is where you’ll be able to see a select of different things available from your horse, including more of your hats. Select the hat that you want to equip at this time, and then boom, you’re good to go.

Now that you’ve got your hat back, make sure you know how to take a bath and clean yourself up. After all, nobody likes making deals with someone who smells like they’ve been on the road for several months.
