How to Find the Bharati Grizzly Bear

The first time that you run into the Bharati Grizzly Bear will be during the mission, Exit Pursued by a Bruised Ego. Once the mission concludes, you’ll have the option of sticking around and hunting the bear. However, we’d caution against this, as you’ll need to make sure you have the right weapons and gear to take down the Bharati Grizzly Bear without as much trouble.

Your next goal—before you take on the bear—should be to go ahead and create a manual save. Once you’ve done this, call up your horse and find yourself a rifle with a scope. You’ll also want to bring along some High Velocity ammunition, or Express bullets. Finally, you can also bring along something like a repeater for your secondary. This should give you a solid starting point for hunting down the Bharati Grizzly Bear.

With your weapons situated, head back to the location where you first encountered the bear and use your Eagle Eyes skill to look for any evidence of the bear’s movements in the area. You should be able to find the bear tracks pretty easily. When you’ve done that, follow the trail—making use of your Eagle Eyes to keep track of the bear’s movements. Continue following the bear’s trail until you spot it.

Now that you’ve found the bear, it’s time to start your assault. Before you start shooting, though, make sure you’re using the weapons and ammunition that we outlined above, because you’re going to need all the help you can get. We’d also suggest making use of your Dead Eye ability—which you can refill with a tonic if it’s a bit low. When you’re ready to get going, use Dead Eye and aim your rifle for the head, heart or lungs. These are the critical areas you want to hit—which will take the bear down the quickest.

The big kicker here, though, is to hit it as many times with Dead Eye as you can. Your goal is to kill the bear as quickly as possible. Once it’s dead, approach the body and skin it to acquire the hide. Load the beast’s goods onto your horse, and then make your way over to the Trapper to sell off the unique items it has to offer.
