Might be coming to PS4

The Last Guardian’s absence from Sony’s E3 press conference this week hasn’t gone unnoticed, leaving many wondering what’s happening with the title.

When questioned as to why it wasn’t in the show Sony Worldwide president Shuhei Yoshida explained the game was still having “technical difficulties”.

“The team is back in Tokyo is working hard, and there are some technical difficulties that the team is focused on right now,” came Yoshida. “That’s why we don’t have an update.”

It’s not the first time technical problems with the title have come to public attention; lead designer Fumito Ueda actually left Sony in December 2011.

There have since been reports of “slow progress” and word that both Sony UK and Sony US have been brought onboard to help with Sony Japan’s work on the game.

There’s a lot of rumor and speculation surrounding what platform the title’s expected to be released on, with many expecting a port to PS4.

Shuhei Yoshida has been quick to deflect these claims.

“What does that question mean [is it still a PS3 game]? It is a PS3 game,” he insisted.

Are we actually going to see this wonderful-looking game released on PS3 at all?

“When we have confidence in saying that, we will talk about it,” came Yoshida. “But today, we are working through some engineering effort.”
