2.8 Breeding and Raising Horses
If you didn’t always dream of having your own horse ranch and raising beautiful, smart, prize-winning horses for a living, you can just skip this section! For the rest of us, it’s a dream come true.
You have several options when it comes to breeding horses. First of all, you could create male and female horses in Create a Sim (and optionally set their relationship to Mate, which starts their relationship at a higher level). Then you need to place a box stall object on your lot. Without a box stall, horses simply won’t breed! If you have a pair of oppositely gendered horses with a good relationship, and a box stall, you can direct your horses to use the Try for Baby interaction.
The romantic interaction appears when horses have a high enough relationship.
They enter the box stall, and the action is blocked out, although you can see the typical shower of hearts around the horses. Just as with Sims, not every Try for Baby results in a baby. Keep trying until you get the message that the mare is pregnant...
