Most Wanted Maps in STAR WARS Battlefront

We already know about Hoth, Endor and Jakku, but these are the locations we’d most like to see.

There was plenty of new information about the new Star Wars™ Battlefront™ game at the Star Wars Celebration event in Anaheim, California. Not only did we see gameplay, but we also received details on what to expect from EA’s ambitious title, including 40-person multiplayer, some maps,  characters and even first info on DLC, the Battle of Jakku, which ties in with the forthcoming Episode VII: The Force Awakens movie releasing this December.

That said, we came up with locations we’d love to see in Star Wars Battlefront. The Star Wars universe is vast, with multiple settings that would make for perfect battles.

Cloud City

Lando Calrissian’s beautiful city from The Empire Strikes Back would be a terrific map because of its tight quarters. Being forced to run around hallways and blast Stormtroopers sounds exciting, and we could even see X-Wings battle Cloud Cars. For good measure, having Lando as a playable character would be a nice touch, and can already imagine battles in the carbon-freezing chamber where Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker began their first lightsaber battle.

Jabba’s Sail Barge (and the Sarlacc Pitt)

One of the most iconic scenes from 1983’s Return of the Jedi takes place around the Sarlacc Pitt on Tattooine, where Jabba takes his Sail Barge in order to eliminate Luke Skywalker and company. This would be a cool map to include in the game for a few reasons. First, being able to run around the Sail Barge would provide plenty of room to target enemies, especially if you use the turrets. Second, the ability to go inside the Barge would allow fans to explore this vehicle. Finally, knocking opponents into the Sarlacc Pitt for bonus points seems like an opportunity too good to pass up.

Dagobah

You may recall Dagobah-like swamps appeared in previous Battlefront games, and considering DICE plans to replicate the Star Wars universe in detail, Dagobah would make for a classic map. Being able to fight your way through swamps, shooting creatures that try to eat you while keeping tabs on enemies sounds like a fun time. On top of that, Yoda could be a great legendary character.

Mustafar

Say what you want about the quality of the prequels, but Mustafar is a wonderful location from 2005’s Revenge of the Sith, setting the stage for Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker’s epic confrontation aboard a location overflowing with lava. We can’t help but think this would be a fitting map for Battlefront, as players run around its enclosed hallways, shooting foes and avoiding lava.

The Death Star

The iconic battle station from the original Star Wars series could become the ultimate playground for Battlefront, with players running around rooms, setting off traps for their adversaries and using blast doors to protect themselves. On top of that, there’s plenty of potential for crushing enemies in the trash compactor, or shooting mouser droids that panic whenever you get close.
