Ever since Nintendo revealed that Persona's Joker would be a playable fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the theories and the "we want this" list for other possible additions has been wild and creative. With news that Microsoft is looking to bring the Xbox Game Pass over to the hybrid console from the Big N, a Halo crossover isn't as impossible as it seemed in the past - and apparently, the devs are going all in.
Though by no means an official confirmation that Halo icon Master Chief will actually be in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, there was an exchange on Twitter that has us pondering the possibilities. When Twitter Gaming posed the question "If you could bring any character into Smash, who would it be," the official Halo account wasted no time with their own contribution:
Fans were ALL about this pick, and the reactions were proof that this wouldn't be the silliest move Nintendo could make:
I would instantly buy a Switch with Smash and play Chief whole days— SpiRiT (@SpiRiT_FR) April 2, 2019
I would cry if Chief got into smash. Arbiter in Killer Instinct already made me so happy and this would just make my year. pic.twitter.com/oh2cEhPXFg— Bailey (@TheLateMrBones) April 3, 2019
Let's be real, there is literally a giant Plant that players can choose, so Master Chief wouldn't be the weirdest choice Nintendo could go with. Pair that with the unifying movements Nintendo and Microsoft are making to bridge the gap between consoles, and we may have just found our new favorite fan pick.
For now, we have our hopes and our dreams as well as Persona's Joker on the way. As to whether or not we'll see this idea see fruition or not remains to be seen, but hey - anything is possible and we still have Xbox's E3 showcase to look forward to!
As for the game itself, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available now exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
