Official Xbox Magazine Confirms Multiplayer In Square Enix’s Tomb Raider Reboot

Full story coming in its February issue.

Yesterday, we reported a rumor that Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics were looking to include online multiplayer in its upcoming reboot of Tomb Raider, slated to hit stores in just a few months.  The companies weren’t saying anything about the new mode, but it looks like an outside source just confirmed it’s happening.

Official Xbox Magazine has shown the cover to its forthcoming February 2013 issue, and it shows Lara Croft and a fellow soldier in action, with the word “Multiplayer” clearly highlighted.  Though no other details were given, it looks like it will be team oriented, though we’re not sure if the young Lara will be playing any part in it.  It’d kind of be unfair for a player to have an advantage with her skills while everyone else plays “generic guy on boat,” though.

As soon as we learn more about Tomb Raider’s multiplayer, we’ll provide the details right here on Prima Games.  In the meantime, you’d be wise to have your pre-orders set, just in case.

Tomb Raider hits PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on March 5th.
