The Virtual Reality market continues to grow and it's getting just a little big bigger with the help of Survios and their latest take on The Walking Dead universe with their new game, Onslaught. The Walking Dead: Onslaught ties directly into the AMC series that made waves in television, even bringing back fan favorites like Rick, Carol, and even Daryl.

It wouldn't be a zombie experience without some sick melee action, but there will also be a chance for players to explore long-range weaponry as well. According to the studio, the game will feature "progressive dismemberment" and will stay true to the source material that made The Walking Dead the smashing success it is today.

There have been several gaming takes on this universe already, some successful - some not so much. Telltale's take on The Walking Dead, despite it's episodic nature, was a huge hit with fans, whereas Overkill's The Walking Dead flopped harder than they ever could have imagined. With different weapon perks, familiar narratives and characters, and an up close and personal game style, Onslaught aims to be another success for the wildly beloved franchise.

We don't have a specific release date yet at this time, though we do know it is coming to VR in Fall of this year. Which VR platforms specifically has yet to be unveiled, but it's possible we'll be learning more during E3, which is just next month.
