Mission: Hope is a Sad Thing

Objective: Hack the marina computer to find Kenney.

Objective: Use the Profiler to find the reset code.

Starting this mission sends you to a hacking point nearby. However, when you initiate the hack, you’re stopped and must use the Profiler to find the reset code. Walk around the designated area with your phone out, examining all of the people you pass. There are two marina employees in the area, but only one of them has the code you need when hacked.

Objective: Enter the new password in the marina computer.

Objective: Infiltrate the ctOS tower.

Find and hack the employee (usually down by the pier, but the employee moves around), then head back to the computer and attempt to hack it again. When you reach the next waypoint, head to the locked door and look up to find a camera. Hack the camera to find the unlock point, then hack that to unlock the door.

Objective: Activate the station to access data.

Head down the concrete stairs in the middle of the area, then take a right at the bottom and access the camera through the door. Access the interlude, then move the camera to the right to find the hacking point that unlocks the door. Head back up to the surface and over to the large antenna at the back of the complex (on the northwest side).

Climb up the stairs, then look toward the antenna in the center and hack it to move the walkway over to you. Step onto the walkway, then hack the antenna again to move it to the other side. Step off the walkway and hack the antenna yet again to move it back.

Now access the camera to the right. Move it up and to the right to access the right-most camera (there are two cameras in close proximity). Straight ahead is the hacking point that unlocks the gate to that section. Hack it, then head down the stairs and through the freshly unlocked gate.

Climb up the ladder, then access the antenna in the center again. With the satellites moved one more time, head up the stairs to your right and step onto the walkway. Look to the left to see the antenna in the center and hack it yet again. Make your way across the walkway, then hack the center antenna one more time.

Look below to find a lift. Hack the lift to raise it up to the walkway, then board the lift and lower it. Step out of the lift and head down the stairs and through the gate at the bottom. Head to the right to find an audio log at the end of the hall and a laptop to the right. Pick up the electronic parts next to the laptop, then hack into it.

Head back to the other end of the hall and look through the gate at the end to see an explosive panel. As soon as you set off the explosion, it’s going to cause a chain reaction through the hallway. Set it off, then quickly head up the stairs to your left to avoid the chain reaction.

Once the explosion is complete, head through the newly opened gate and access the unlock point on the left. Continue past the unlock panel and up the hill to the gate at the end. At this point, you’re back at ground level in the main yard.

Head back down the concrete stairs in the middle. Now that you’ve done all that work, the gate at the bottom of the stairs to the right is open. Go through the gate and access the control point in the middle of the room to complete the objective.

Objective: Look for Ray Kenney at Jed’s bar.

Leave the control center and head to Jed’s bar, which is the current waypoint on the map. The entrance to the bar is on the southeast side. Go inside and head toward the waypoint to initiate a cut-scene. In the midst of the cut-scene you have to play a drinking mini-game. You need to move a circle across several button icons, pressing the corresponding button as you move the circle over it. Because you’re not quite at 100 percent, the circle doesn’t move very well, which means you need to put in a little effort.

The first three games are fairly straightforward. The fourth and final game shows two question mark icons (one on the left and one on the right) instead of button icons. When you hover over the question marks, they reveal the icon. When you press the correct button that corresponds to the icon, a column of button icons appears to the right or left of the question mark, respectively. Make sure you hit the column of icons before you move to the second question mark. If you don’t, you may run out of time to hit all of the icons. Finish the game to complete the mission.
