When it comes to certain gaming experiences, the Kinect isn't half bad, particularly if you're shaking your tail feather to a Dance Central game or trying to shoot virtual targets in the magical Child of Eden. However, the device does have its limitations, particularly when it comes to noting separate hand gestures.
But that may soon be a thing of the past when it comes to the next Xbox (and maybe even Kinect for Windows). Microsoft's latest SDK update has enabled it to conduct research on a project, one that would allow the motion device to track the gestures of your hand, including individual finger movements. The future…?
The researchers involved with the project utilized the new update to put together a painting program, one that traced individual finger gestures and multi-touch technology to a startling degree.
Though no official release date was given, we did find a video where the researchers were testing out the program, which you can view here.
