Road Redemption Meets its Funding, Will Rev Onto PC and Wii U Next Year

If it meets its stretch goals, it'll work its way to Xbox Live Arcade and Oculus Rift as well.

A little while back, we introduced you to DarkSeas Games’ project Road Redemption, a game that would bring back the vibe of the classic EA racing/action series Road Rash in a whole new light.  The team has since launched a KickStarter, in the hopes of making its revving project a reality and the good news that they will.

Road Redemption has officially met its KickStarter goal, clearing over $160,000 with just under two days to go.  That means it’ll publish for Wii U, PC and Mac as planned late next year.

However, the KickStarter isn’t over yet.  The team has announced a pair of “stretch goals” that could bring the game to other systems.  If it clears over $178,000, it’ll make it over to Xbox Live Arcade.  If it gets to $198,000, the team will make it happen for the 3D virtual simulation device Oculus Rift as well.  (The team even posted a video showing it in action.)

We certainly hope these goals are met, as it’d be great to see a Road Rash-like game make a return on as many platforms as possible.  You can head over to this link to join in the fun but hurry, there are only two days left!
