Ever since Nintendo officially announced the project last week for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, much speculation has been going into Sega's latest Sonic the Hedgehog game Sonic: Lost World.  It looks like you'll be covering danger on a global scale this time around, as a picture of a planet was shown with clouds obscuring some areas.

Today, Sega clarified things a little bit, only to make them even more mysterious.  The company posted a new pic on its official Twitter page (@sega) saying, "Six will rise from the Lost World.  Are they friends or foes?  Find out on May 29th."  The above image was also attached, showing six quirky new characters who will be joining the party.

It looks like Sega wants to talk more about the game before its official unveiling at E3 in less than three weeks.  We'll have all the information for you here once it's shown off.

Sonic: Lost World will arrive later this year for 3DS and Wii U.
