With Sonic: Lost World months from release, Sega began hyping the mighty Hedgehog’s return. Today it announced a special edition of the game for the Wii U, dubbed the Deadly Six edition.
This special package will include an exclusive new “NIGHTMARE” level that’s downloadable through Nintendo’s eShop. Notice how the name is spelled? That’s because it’s heavily inspired by Sonic Team’s flying action game, NiGHTS, featuring characters and scenarios taken straight from that title, which originally released for the Sega Saturn, but more recently arrived for Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.
Once Sonic defeats these monsters, he’ll unlock a special power exclusive to this version of the game.
Sonic: Lost World will arrive on Wii U, as well as Nintendo 3DS, on October 22nd.
