Valve Unveils Steam Machines

Find out how you can take part in the beta this year.

As promised, Valve had another blockbuster announcement this morning, the second of three that it’s making this week. After announcing SteamOS on Monday, the company unveiled the existence of the SteamBox, or in this case, Steam Machines.

The company partnered up with a number of hardware manufacturers to create multiple models of the Steam Machines, which will run games through SteamOS for use in the living room or wherever you feel like playing games. It hasn’t come up with a final hardware model yet, mainly because it’s still in the beta testing phase.

This is where you come in, as the company wants testers of the device to nail down the final design and make sure it’s completely up to speed for mass market next year. You can sign up for the Steam Machines beta at this link and learn a little bit more about the technology.
