What to Watch

  • Opening Ceremony
  • Cosplay Events
  • Developer Panels
  • Esports Events

First and foremost, you need to know what kind of events you can watch at Blizzcon. One of the biggest highlights of the annual event is the opening ceremony where most of the big announcements are made. However, that’s not the only draw of Blizzcon. You’ve got the various cosplay events, developer panels, and even world championships for all of Blizzard’s biggest esports titles.

All of the esports events and the opening ceremony are free to watch. We’ll detail where you can watch this below. However, most of the developer panels and cosplay activities will require the Virtual Ticket if you want to get in on the fun. Included exclusively in the Virtual Ticket you’ll be able to watch a pre-show video series, community night activities, panels from all of the various stages at Blizzcon, access to the archive from last year’s event, and a special build-a-panel that lets the viewers vote on what kind of special panel they want to see.

Where to Watch

The opening ceremony is broadcast on twitch.tv/blizzard, as well as all of the individual esports twitch channels. However, the specific esports events are all broadcast on their own channels. Any other Blizzcon activities can be watched via the Virtual Ticket. The best course of action is to pick up the Virtual Ticket if you’re interested in anything other than the esports streams. However, if your primary focus for Blizzcon are the global finals, you won’t need to purchase anything additional to watch them.
